Mrs. Theresa Hucke, another one of Millstadt's venerable old inhabitants, died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital at Belleville on Friday evening at 9:50 o'clock. The deceased had reached the ripe age of 90 years, 4 months, 12 days.

Mrs. Hucke was born in Belleville on Feb 3, 1844, a daughter of Phillip & Elizabeth (Nehring) Wenzel. She was married to Louis Hucke in the sixties. Her husband died several years ago. She was one of the few widows of a veteran of the Civil War in Millstadt Township.

The deceased leaves six children; Louis Hucke in Smithton Township, Joseph Hucke of the Belleville Road, Frank Hucke south of Millstadt, and Peter Hucke, at home with his mother south of town; Maggie, wife of Adam Roos, southwest of here, Bertha, wife of Peter Rau, near Waterloo. She also leaves 10 grandchildren & two great grandchildren.

The funeral was held on Monday morning from the home to St. James Catholic Church where services were held by Rev. Father Henery Alberg. Burial was made in St. James Catholic Cemetery.
