Carol A. Hucke, nee Helfrich, 73 years of Millstadt, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was born December 27, 1949, in Belleville, IL.
Carol was a life long member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL. She was a dedicated homemaker and committed to her family. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter Katie and taking her shopping.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Albert "Bert" Hucke, whom she married on September 27, 1968 at St. James Church, her son, Alan J. (Michelle) Hucke, her granddaughter, Katherine Marie "Katie" Hucke, her brother, Robert "Bob" Helfrich, her aunts, Rosie (the late Al) Helfrich & Rita (the late Clem) Orlet, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Ben & Cecelia A., nee Orlet, Helfrich, her sister-in-law, Kathy Helfrich, her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Albert & Marie Hucke and her brother-in-law, Bob Hucke.
Carol's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital in Belleville on 2 North for their care and compassion for Carol and her family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL., and on Monday, September 25, 2023 an hour before the service at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL., with Monsignor Marvin Volk, officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Michaels' Catholic Cemetery in Paderborn, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. James Catholic Church in the form of Masses or to St. James Catholic School.
