      Earl T. Mueller, 91, of Smithton, IL, born October 3, 1916, in Millstadt, IL, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at St. Paul's Home, Belleville, IL.

      Earl retired from Premier Peerless Products Company after 40 years of service. He was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. Mr. Mueller was a World War U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ida, nee Muskopf, Mueller; and three brothers, Myron, Clyde, and Fred Mueller.

      He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian, nee Hucke, Mueller, whom he married April 23, 1947; a son, Keith (Vicki) Mueller of Belleville, IL; a sister-in-law, Helen Mueller of Bismarck, MO; two nieces, Jacquelyn Browning of St. Charles, MO, and Fern Quirin of Smithton, IL; two nephews, Fred Mueller Jr. of Dothan, AL, and Don Mueller of Belleville, IL; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

      Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Smithton. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

      Private family visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Smithton, IL, with Deacon Don Deitz officiating.

      Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Smithton, IL.
