Cletus P. Rau, 95, of Waterloo, Ill., born March 21, 1916, in Columbia, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, in Waterloo, Ill.
Mr. Rau was a retired president of the Federal Land Bank Association of Belleville (Farm Credit). A member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Waterloo, Ill., Waterloo Knights of Columbus (4 degree), Holy Name Society, Waterloo American Legion, Waterloo VFW Post, and was a U.S. World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Collette, nee Welsch, Rau; his parents, Peter and Bertha, nee Hucke, Rau; and a sister, Helen Selzer.
He is survived by children, C. Glennon Rau, David "Pete" (Pam) Rau, and Jennifer (Edward) Sanvi; his grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Mendes, Christopher (Carol) Hoemeke, Michael (Nina) Rau, Nathan (Annette) Rau, Brady (Jenny) Rau, Tera Sanvi; his great-grandchildren; and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Ss. Peter & Paul School Building Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Waterloo, Ill., with Father Dale Maxfield officiating. Burial will be held at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Waterloo, Ill.
