- [S40] Obituary - Theresia Hucke, Millstadt Enterprise, (Millstadt Enterprise).
Mrs. Hucke was born in Belleville on Feb 3, 1844, a daughter of Phillip & Elizabeth (Nehring) Wenzel. She was married to Louis Hucke in the sixties. Her husband died several years ago. She was one of the few widows of a veteran of the Civil War in Millstadt Township.
Birthdate extrapolated from Theresia's age.
Birthplace Prussia from Theresia's census entries of 1880 and 1900, stating both parents born Prussia.
As T. herself was born in Illinois, however, they must have immigrated.

The Soup brothers(?) do not have any occupation noted - though the instructions say all males over 15 should have this listed - and the box at far right for "Attended School" is not checked. Why they were living with the Wenzels is unknown.
