- [S40] Obituary - Theresia Hucke, Millstadt Enterprise, (Millstadt Enterprise), 21 Jun 1934.
Mrs. Hucke was born in Belleville on Feb 3, 1844, a daughter of Phillip & Elizabeth (Nehring) Wenzel. She was married to Louis Hucke in the sixties. Her husband died several years ago. She was one of the few widows of a veteran of the Civil War in Millstadt Township.
Birthdate "before 1815" guessed from Theresia's birthdate 1834.
Additionally, in both the 1880 and 1900 census, Theresia gives the birthplaces of both parents as Preuse or Preussen (Prussia), so I take their birthplaces from that.

The Soup brothers(?) do not have any occupation noted - though the instructions say all males over 15 should have this listed - and the box at far right for "Attended School" is not checked. Why they were living with the Wenzels is unknown.
