New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 Record for Domenico Rossi.
Ship: Denmark (National line, Liverpool)
Departure: Le Havre, France and London, England
Arrival: New York, 22 July 1872
Rossi, Domenico, 27, M, laborer, Italy
-, Maria, 25, F, wife
-, Angelo, 5, -, child
-, Theresa, inft., -, inft.
Names of parents and first two children match that previously known.
Dominic - age 27 implies birth 1844/5; previously thought to be 1843.
Maria - age 25 implies birth 1847; previously thought to be 1848. (age 20 on birth of her first child is reasonable).
Angelo - age 5 birth 1867 - exactly right.
Thersa - "inft". Bob Hucke's research had 1871/Chicago; Census 1900 said "May 1874/Italy"; death cert had approx age 40, year 1874.
As it is known from Dom's son Anthony's passport application that Dominic emigrated 1872, this is a likely match, and Theresa's birthplace of Italy (and emigration as infant), given her illiteracy, makes this more reliable than Theresa's later claims of birth in 1874. I am therefore accepting this record and adjusting birthdates to match.
