Urban A. Jacobi, 73-year-old retired farmer, died suddenly of a heart attack at 9:05 o'clock last night at his home, 413 Portland Avenue. He was born in Millstadt Township, March 17, 1887, a son of the late John and Mary Jacobi, nee Vogt. He married the former Anna K. Biver here, October 27, 1909, and she died April 30, 1958. He married the former Kathryn Marxer last February 20 here. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Paul U. Jacobi, 1437 Commercial Street; four daughters: Armella, wife of George Touchette, R. R. 1, Columbia, Irma, wife of Anthony Hausmann, R. R. 2, New Athens, Dolores, wife of Melvin Baechle, 118 South Virginia Avenue, and Sister M. Joel, Franciscan Order, stationed at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Ill.; a step-daughter, Louanne, wife of Walter Drone, Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Joseph Jacobi, East St. Louis; a sister, Helen, wife of Frank Hucke, R.R. 2, Millstadt; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother preceded in death. Mr. Jacobi was a member of the choir and the Holy Name Society of St. Peter's Cathedral, St. Clair County Farm Bureau and Senior Citizens Club. The funeral will be held at 9:45 a.m. Thursday from the Renner Funeral Home to St. Peter's Cathedral for a Mass at 10 o'clock. Msgr. Gregory holtgrave, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 pm.m.
